About the Club

The Focus Photo Club was founded in 1989 for the enjoyment of all photographers, from the amateur to the professional. Each monthly meeting includes a speaker, workshop or presentation and a competition for the club members. Other photographic and social activities are planned according to the members' wishes. The Club produces a monthly newsletter, Out of Focus, that shares contest information, news and photographic tips.

The club year runs from July through the following June. Individual dues are $20.00 per year and family dues are $16.00 for each additional family member.

Within each category, there are two divisions, one for open subjects and one for monthly "themes". The extended category is for anything other than "straight 35mm shooting".

Throughout the year, special competition may be held in areas such as portrait photography, images from field trips, etc.

Awards - Ribbons are awarded in each division. At the June banquet, awards are given for total competition points and for service to the club.
